Venus is Waiting

You first caught my eye in a magical blur

And a smile that would light up any sky

Unforeseen chants and lakeside encounters

Were welcome gifts of you

You whose hardened soles stood testament

To seeking and delving and open soul surgery

Venus is waiting

Venus is waiting

She’s waiting there for you

You swung back in to orbit

With love and light to give

That unmistakable sparkle

Of piercing azure blue

But I also saw the sadness

Of the lonesome path you take

Venus is waiting

Venus is waiting

Venus is waiting there for you

I clambered up a hilltop

To catch a Super Moon

And in the dusk a twinkle

It was you, it was you

Smiling back at me

For a moment all the stars stood still

In a quiet celestial dance

As I remembered our first glance

Venus is waiting

Venus is waiting

She’s waiting there for you

Lavender

Amidst the leafy greens and sunny yellows,
The oceanic blues and puffy whites.
Amongst the crimson reds and pretty pinks,
Fiery orange and earthy browns.
One nestles quietly, fragrantly in wait.
It takes the crown of colour, and anchors the rainbow
Behold the regal purple,
Of lavender and princely rain
Designed to take you higher
And transform our earthly pains
Give it time, give it space
And give it your attention
For it will lead you to a place
Of wonderful intentions
And grace you with an everlasting love 💜

A Cloak of Love

1cb11df0-9ea7-430b-afb8-51598fdb9b56

The forest called so I had to go
And pass beneath great trees
To secretly discover
A world of healing leaves
Now flush up on a canopy

With many shades of dappled green, from every branch and sinew
That prove no block to the blackbird, who flies effortlessly through
Both leafy branch and bird play out
A furtive ballroom dance
As I breathe the air that they exhale
In symbiotic romance

The great oak hardly noticed me
Enter it’s airy vault
And the delicate ash caressed me with an intimacy of order
Until finally the umbrella of a beech
Wrapped a cloak of love around me
It’s impossible to describe the beauty of a leaf

Under the canopy, a cloak of love
Where faeries wander
The symmetry of Ash leaves
An umbrella of Beech
An inviting path
